Mikro Brew Festival

Next Friday in San Sebastián is an event that proves that people in San Sebastián do care about good beer. Good food and good wine is obviously an integral part of the life here, but for whatever reason beer has maintained an impressive level of mediocrity.

Basqueland Brewing Project presents the first annual microbrew festival that will celebrate small beer producers. Why go? For the entry ticket price, you get 30 craft beers, commemorative glass, live music, artisanal sandwich made by The Loaf, and most importantly a mini-ice cream sandwich made by The Cookie. Taste over 30 beers from 16 top microbrewers, overlooking the beautiful Concha bay and enjoying some dee-lish food.

The international brewers include:

Anchor Brewing Company, San Francisco • Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Chico, California • Flying Dog Brewery, Frederick, Maryland • Brooklyn Brewery, Brooklyn • Mikkeller, Copenhagen • To Øl, Copenhagen • Thornbridge Brewery, Derbyshire, England • BrewDog Craft Brewery, Aberdeenshire, Scotland • Orval Trappist, Villers-devant-Orval, Belgium • Rochefort Trappist, Abbaye Notre-Dame de Saint-Remy, Belgium • Bob’s Etxeko, Hasparren, France (Pays Basque)

Local beers from the Basque Country and Spain:

Olañeta • Pagoa • Gross • Dougalls • Mateo y Bernabé

Friday, August 9, 2013, 7-10pm on La Terraza de Bataplan.
