say no to ugly cookies: lemon basil
As a function of my job, at least once a week I find myself searching out new cookie recipes. I comb books, I flip through magazines, I click link after link, and I stare into space, imagining new flavor combinations. Such a focussed search has taught me a few things about the (real and virtual) world.
One thing I've learned is that people are baking the same cookies all the time. Chocolate Chip. Peanut Butter. Macarons, every now and then. Sugar. Oatmeal. Which is fine, if boring.
The other thing I've learned is that people are baking very, very ugly cookies. And while I'm not one to turn down a baked good based on appearances, I have to wager that at least half of these ugly cookies don't taste that great either. You can tell just by looking at them that they are cakey messes.
So, as a product of this search, I have a catalogue of about a dozen recipes for straight up delicious and nice-looking cookies. I'm sick of the misinformation appropriated throughout the internet, and so I'm here to put a stop to crappy cookie recipes that seem to multiply like rabbits. You are in good hands here.
